Meet The Owner

Billy Anderson

Founder & Owner  ·  U.S. Army Veteran  ·  NASM CPT

I was born and raised in College Station and graduated from A&M Consolidated High School, Class of ’97. I joined the Army in ’98 and served 20 years combined between active duty Army and the Texas Army National Guard. I retired from service in 2018 as an SFC(P) — Sergeant First Class (Promotable) — in the Infantry.

Fitness has always been a part of my life, especially as a soldier. Before I retired, I was already teaching group fitness at a local gym and getting into personal training. At the time I didn’t know exactly what I was going to do for my next career, but I truly enjoyed helping people move and feel better. The gym I was at sold to a corporate gym. Shortly after, I retired and began personal training along with my fitness classes. That was about the time I decided this was going to be my path.

I was working full time at a corporate gym with a full schedule of clients and classes when Covid hit and everything stopped. I decided I couldn’t just sit around — I had to get busy. I had clients who had come to depend on me. I started my bootcamps in the park that same week, and began training people out of my house a couple of weeks later. My goal was to maintain a sense of normalcy for my clients and keep them motivated during a stressful time. From there, I helped co-found another local training studio and continued training my clients there for the next four years.

I decided to start my own studio under my own brand because I believe personal training should meet a high standard, and clients deserve that standard every time. My clients have put their faith in me and followed me every step of the way — a few have been with me for almost nine years. I could not have done this without them, and I want to provide them with the very best service available.

My goal is always to be the standard in personal training and fitness in College Station.

The Name

What Waypoint Means

Waypoint Fitness and my logo are both tied to my military service. It was a way to combine my past career — which shaped my character and personality — with my new business, which embodies the values and discipline of my service.

A waypoint is a fixed point to help you navigate. We used waypoints during land navigation to help navigate around obstacles and keep us moving toward our objective. This is precisely what Waypoint Fitness is about.

The Waypoint Fitness logo: a compass made of barbells

My logo is a compass made with barbells, with the dot in the center as your waypoint.

Waypoint Fitness is built on high standards and the Army values.

I’m a NASM Certified Personal Trainer and currently at Texas A&M University, where I’m studying Agricultural Economics with an emphasis in Entrepreneurship. Fitness has been a passion of mine for years, and I’m equally excited to learn the business side of the industry while helping Waypoint continue to grow under Billy Anderson’s leadership.

I’ve been training for over six years and coaching clients for nearly a year, along with leading group fitness classes. I enjoy working with people of all ages, fitness levels, and backgrounds — from those just getting started to experienced lifters, athletes, and individuals working around injuries or mobility limitations.

I believe that consistency, strength training, quality nutrition, and simple habits create lasting results. I’ve completed additional education in nutrition, and my own health journey has given me a deeper appreciation for how exercise and nutrition work together to support overall wellness.

Whether your goal is to get stronger, improve mobility, lose body fat, build confidence in the gym, or simply move and feel better every day, I’d love to help you get there.

I can’t wait to meet everyone and be a part of your fitness journey. See you at Waypoint!

Outside of the gym, I’m currently a student at Texas A&M, working toward my Bachelor of Science in Human Nutrition — so I know a thing or two about diet! I’m also a proud member of the Texas A&M Powerlifting team, where I rank #3 in the state of Texas and #7 nationally in my weight division.

My absolute favorite lift to perform — and to teach — is the bench press. If you’re interested in learning more about strength training, improving mobility, and feeling your best all around, I’m your girl.

I am currently competing on the professional track circuit while living in College Station working in personal training.

I specialize in athletic performance training, as well as functional movement training. I use my understanding of things like force production, anatomy, and stimulus response to promote more efficient movement patterns and injury resistance.

I also work to ensure basic functionality can be obtained through exercises that translate to everyday movement we use in our lives.

How We Coach

What You Can Expect

Attention To Detail

Every rep of every set has a coach on it. That is how form problems get fixed before they become injuries, and how the load keeps going up safely.

The Plan Is Yours

No template downloaded off the internet. Your program is written for your goal, your history and your body, and it changes as you do.

Nobody Is Watching You

A private, by-appointment gym means no line for a rack and no audience. For a lot of new clients, that is the thing that finally makes the gym bearable.

Honest Expectations

We will tell you what is realistic on your timeline and what is not. No selling you a transformation that requires you to quit your job.

Consistency Over Intensity

One brutal session you never repeat is worth less than three good ones a week for a year. Your trainer's job includes keeping you showing up.

It Includes The Kitchen

Nutrition guidance comes with the coaching, because training alone rarely gets anybody to the goal they walked in with.
